You Know You Watch Giant Robo Too Much When You...

(editor's notes: This was sent to me by Atmavictu, who posts pretty frequently on rec.arts.anime.misc. He's a huge Robo fan, and I thought parts of this were pretty funny, so I agreed to put it up. It should be noted, however, that many of the references are based on the Manga dubs of the show.)

1. Sing "Dies Erae" at school.
   (ed. note: For those who don't know, 'Dies Irae' is the classical piece that the 'Tragedy of Bashtarlle' music is based on)
2. Wonder how the Shizuma Drive works during Physics (would be a good way to make money if you actually figured it out!).
   (ed. note: I have heard that Walter Amos apparently did work out a way in which the Shizuma Drive would be actually feasible...I'll see if I can't get him to let me post it here *grin*)
3. Want to say "Together, Allegiance or Death, Big Fire" during the (American) Pledge of Allegiance.
4. Think someone with a red condom over their head will kill you if you hold an ordinary suitcase too long.
5. Think of Doctor Shizuma's haircut when you see a spider.
6. Think your computer's a Big Fire agent because the spellcheck suggests "interlope" for "InterPol".
7. Use a Giant Robo CD cover to help you memorize katakana.
8. Draw lines and squiggles in your biology book so that the microbes look like robots.
9. Can't get the "Truth of Bashtarlle" scene out of your head.
10. Know all the lines in the English dub AND Venice scripts cover-to-cover.
11. Stick your hand near the back of an annoying person's head, hoping to blow it off like Impact Alberto would.
12. Think that people in Star Trek are going to die if they teleport too much.
13. Imagine yellow Post-It notes crawling up some annoying person's leg and freezing that person in place....
14. Want to call someone "Shamure" if they look like a zombie (obscure! Hope someone gets it).
    (ed. note: No, I don't get it either)
15. Know the names of all the Belgian Team members.
16. Have impure fantasies about the Belgian Team members.
17. Think of the destruction of Paris when you're frustrated in French class.
18. Think that if you attend the college, Notre Dame, it will blow up.
19. Try to figure out the nationality of Farmelle and Emmanuel's mother.
20. Actually believe that "Kenji Murasame" is a French name.
21. Say, "I give the order to destroy this base, not Big Fire," when you turn off your computer.
22. Want to grow a beard like Taiso's.
23. Give the Smurfs a second chance because you think they might be related to Youshi.
24. Drink over ten bottles of sake per night (also applicable to Maison Ikkoku , Samurai Shodown (the games), Cerebus the Aardvark, Captain Harlock, Metal Fighter Miku , Ranma 1/2 manga volume 16, Fatal Fury the Motion Picture, and the Yellow Submarine movie).
25. See a stained glass window you THINK looks like an EM web mesher.
26. Yell Issei and Youshi's chant when you're ready to kill someone.
27. Think Mortal Kombat stole "Finish Him" from Daisaku.
28. Want to wear an eyepatch when you dress up in a suit.
29. Consider wearing pink because Kenji Murasame wears it (and tacky shades of green for the same reason).
30. Have a theory that your bowling ball is really the Eye of Folger.
31. Think of Uranus when you look at Mesopotamian fertility statues.
32. Feel sorry for the InterPol agents that were killed by Uranus because it is such a loser.
33. Wonder if the Eye of Folger would cancel out the power of the Death Star.
34. Become suspicious of anyone named "Cervantes."
35. Upon hearing "Ivan the Terrible," the czar DOESN'T come to mind.
36. Ask Trish Ledoux why her name is in the credits, then tell her you like analyzing the plot of Giant Robo.
37. Quote, "The beautiful night" in a really psycho voice in front of Trish Ledoux.
38. Hear Trish say, "Um, right..." after all is said and done.
39. Write Giant Robo fanfics where one of the main characters actually only appears on screen for about a minute.
40. Write GR fanfics at ALL (everyone's so busy doing Ranma stuff....).
